Teeth that have lost their full function or strength due to injury or cavity can often be repaired. The decayed enamel or chipped portion is removed, and new tooth colored materials added to help restore function and appearance.

Lost teeth are sometimes replaced with removable prosthetic devices. These devices help aid in restoring aesthetics and function.

When a tooth is too damaged to restore, extraction is necessary to prevent the spread of disease and infection. We understand this can often be a stressful and emotional appointment, which is why we do everything in our power and ability to ease any level of anxiety our patients may be experiencing. Our knowledgeable, experienced staff, nitrous oxide, and allowing headphones are just a few of the things we offer to maximize patient comfort.

If a tooth is compromised from a crack or decay, sometimes it is necessary to open the tooth and eliminate the diseased tissue. Once complete, the opening is then filled and sealed with a temporary resin, until a final restoration is fabricated.

When a tooth surface has too much damage or too extensively decayed, the option to cover the tooth once the diseased portion has been removed is called a crown. Often made of a strong porcelain, or full gold, it replaces the strong surface of the tooth that was previously compromised. Crowns can be matched expertly to your neighboring tooth’s color.

Bridges and Implants are the two most commonly used options for tooth replacement. A bridge utilizes neighboring teeth to anchor in the false tooth. A dental implant is a titanium post that functions as a normal tooth root. Once these posts are placed, the restoration or crown portion is connected to the implant.  Our office is happy to talk to you about your options and create a care plan that best suits your needs.
